Using, Minimizing and Displaying the Ribbon
You can set the ribbon to minimize automatically to maximize your workspace. If you click on the tab you want, the ribbon appears temporarily. The ribbon also appears temporarily if you press the [Alt] key to show the access keys and select a tab.
Using Access Keys for Menu Commands
Context
You can use access keys for quickly accessing ribbon, Model tab and toolbar commands. The access keys are shown per level, i.e. one after the other.
You can also access certain commands using shortcut keys; you can find out what these are in the respective menu command's tool tip.
How to proceed
-
Press and release the [Alt] key.
The access keys for the first level are displayed (ribbon and quick access toolbar).
-
Press the access key or key combination which applies to the tab or command you want.
Depending on the hierarchy, further access keys may appear.
-
Press the desired access keys until you get to the desired command.
The desired command is then executed.
Note
The ribbon is automatically minimized when in full screen mode [F11]. You then have the maximum amount of space for diagrams and tables in your workspace. Menu commands can be accessed when you call them. You can exit full screen mode by clicking on [F11]; the ribbon then appears so that you can use the tool windows.
Creating Elements from the Gallery Using Drag-and-Drop
You can drag elements from the control element gallery and drop them where you want them in a diagram to create them.
Icons show whether the element can be placed in the current position or not.
