Other Editors
Other editors are available as document windows for certain functions.
What are other editors?
Other editors provide certain functions in a document window.
Document windows primarily differ from tool windows due to their dynamic creation and destruction. Whereas tool windows are always restricted to a fixed number per model, document windows can also be called in multiple.
A tool window can be arranged in a document area, but a document window cannot be arranged in a tool window area.
Document Window Options
Document windows can also be shown using the following options:
- Float
The document window floats as its own window and is not in a fixed position - Dock
The document window is shown in a fixed position in the document window area.
You can reach the options of a document window as follows:
- In Float mode, via the context menu and the
icon in the window title. - In Dock mode, via the context menu in the window title.
When you move the document window, document window positioning icons appear. You can use these to dock the document window again by depositing it in the document window area again.
Opening Document Windows of Special Editors
Context
When an appropriate selection has been made, you can call the document windows of the editors using the following commands:
- Dependency Editor with Start>Open>Dependent Elements or Start>Open>Required Elements
- Change Set '{0}' with Model>Change Sets
- DB Manager editor with Import/Export>Import>Database or DDL
- Dimension Maintenance editor with Extras>Data Warehouse>Dimension Manager
- Hierarchy Manager editor with Extras>Data Warehouse>Hierarchy Manager
- Mapping editor via a mapping process in the Extras>Map Model>Mapping submenu
- Align Models editor with Review>Align>Align Models
- Specification editor with Specification (F3)
- Specification editor for BI tasks with Specification (F3) for tasks in BI models
- History of '{0}' (element) with the History context menu command
- Model documentation Preview with Model>(Nicht definierte Variable:UIVar_Menu.HdrPublishTitle) or in documentation wizards
