Saving Diagram Graphics in Files
Graphics files can be exported to save a diagram or diagram section in order to use them in other applications.
Diagram Graphics Files for Other Applications
Several formats are available to you for making a diagram or a diagram section available to other applications as a graphics file:

Portable Network Graphics (PNG)

Windows Enhanced Metafile (EMF)

Tagged Image File Format (TIFF)

Graphics Interchange Format (GIF)
-
XML Paper Specification (XPS) and
-
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG)

Portable Document Format (PDF)
Windows Enhanced Metafile, XML Paper Specification, Scalable Vector Graphics and Portable Document Format either are vector graphics or contain them.
You select the desired format as a file type in the Save As dialog.
Diagram action elements (e.g. the carousel or selection frame) are filtered out for the graphics file export. The created graphic is then exported to a file.
To save diagram graphics in a graphics file, use the commands in Import/Export>Export>Graphics File.

Saving a Diagram as a Graphics File
How to proceed

If you want to save the entire active diagram in a graphics file, select Import/Export>Export>Graphics File>Diagram to File...
Diagram action elements (e.g. the carousel or selection frame) are filtered out for the export.
The Save As standard dialog appears.

In the dialog, navigate to the target directory.

If necessary, change the proposed file name. By default, this is the same as the diagram name.

Select the file type to determine the graphics format.

Click on Save.
The diagram graphic is saved in the target directory with the selected file name and file type.
The action elements are again available in the diagram.
Saving a Diagram Section as a Graphics File
How to proceed

If you want to save a diagram section in a graphics file, select Import/Export>Export>Graphics File>Diagram Section to File...
A crosshairs icon appears.
Diagram action elements (e.g. the carousel or selection frame) are filtered out for the export.

Position the crosshairs icon, click on the left-hand mouse button, and drag out the desired diagram section in any direction.
The diagram section is highlighted in color.
If you want to change it, close the standard dialog and start again.

Release the mouse button.
The Save As standard dialog appears.

In the dialog, navigate to the target directory.

If necessary, change the proposed file name. By default, this is the same as the diagram name.

Select the file type to determine the graphics format.

Click on Save.
The diagram section is saved in the target directory with the selected file name and file type.
The action elements are again available in the diagram.
