Editing Property Lists

In the Properties tool window, you can edit a property for which the values are a list.

Prerequisites

A property with a list value is selected in the Properties tool window. The value is marked with "(List)" or "(No Entries)". Clicking on the three dots opens the dialog. A prerequisite for this is that the user logged-in has access to the element.

Context

The property has a list of values which the Properties tool window cannot show. This are edited using the dialog.

How to proceed

  1. Click on  Select Element.

    The dialog appears.

    The model elements which represent the property's value are listed in the dialog's assignment list. If the list is empty, then the Add area is expanded.

  2. To add further elements to the list, select the elements you want to add in the Add area according to selection in the tree or running the search in the right-hand list and click on Apply.

    These new elements are added to the assignment list. They are selected.

    You can add further elements of the same type in this way.

  3. To remove elements from the list, select them and click on Remove.

    The element is removed from the assignment.

  4. Select precisely one element in the list to change the order of the list. Move the element up or down one using the up and down arrow buttons.

  5. To adopt the list, click on the OK button.

    The property's value set is replaced by the current assignment. The number of assigned elements appears next to this property in the Properties tool window; you can see the list in the tool tip.

  6. Click on the Cancel button if you do not want to change the property's value.

  7. To completely delete the property's value set, click on  Clear Value next to the value in the Properties tool window. You can cancel the deletion in the confirmation dialog.

    "(No Entries)" appears next to this property in the Properties area.
