Go to a linked element Dialog
The Go to a linked element dialog displays elements which have any sort of relationship with the selected element and lets you jump to these elements.
Purpose
The Go to a linked element dialog displays elements which have any sort of relationship with the selected element.
You can jump to these elements, with the specific jump targets being influenced by the selection.
Structure
The dialog has a tree structure on the left-hand side and a list on the right-hand side; the information in both of these depends on the selection in the tree structure.
Left-Hand Tree
The tree structure's root node shows the selected initial element.
The direct child nodes represent the type of relationships which other elements have with the initial element. This includes elements which have a certain relationship with the initial element.
Right-Hand List
If an element is selected in the tree, the right-hand list then shows all diagrams which contain the element. The owner is offered for elements which can be edited in a table editor.
If a relationship node is selected in the tree, the right-hand list then shows the same elements as the child nodes of the selected relationship node.
Jump
The selection in the right-hand list determines where you will jump to when you click on OK.
- If a diagram is selected, the diagram opens and the element which was selected in the left-hand tree is selected.
- If a model element is selected, the same element is selected in the Model Content tool window in the Model Structure view.
Opening the Dialog
How to proceed
- Select an element.
- Select Start>Browse>Go to>Linked Elements... (Ctrl+Shift+Enter) or, from the context menu, select Go to>Linked Elements...
