Connect Elements Dialog
This dialog can be used to connect a single element from the left-hand model with a single element from the right-hand model to merge the two to form a single node in theAlign Models editor's tree.
Purpose
Use the Align Models editor to compare two models, the result is shown in the left-hand tree.
Two elements from both models which are identified as matching are shown as one node in the tree. Two elements are recognized as being matching if they are from the same element type, are in the same branch and have the same UUID or name.
Elements not identified as having a matching element in the other model get a separate node in the tree. An icon shows whether the element only exists in the left or right model. You can explicitly set matches for these types of elements. You can use the dialog to set the matching element for the left model from the right model.
Structure
At the top of the dialog, the Element from the left model that is to be mapped to a counterpart in the right-hand model is displayed.
All elements in the right-hand model that are of the same element type and as yet have no counterpart in the left-hand model are shown as Candidates from the right model.
Mapping Elements
Prerequisites
A branch in the Align Models editor contains at least one element that only exists in the left model and at least one element that only exists in the right model. These elements need to be from the same element type.
How to proceed
