Notations in Innovator for Information Architects
Innovator for Information Architects uses graphic notation, primarily the Entity Relationship Modeling (ERM), Structured Entity Relationship Modeling (SERM) and Integration Definition for Information Modeling (IDEF1X) standards.
Graphic notation in Innovator for Information Architects is primarily based on the following standards:
- Entity Relationship Modeling (ERM) according to Peter Pin-Shan Chen etc.
- Structured Entity Relationship Modeling (SERM) according to Prof. Dr. Elmar J. Sinz
- Integration Definition for Information Modeling (IDEF1X ) corresponding to Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS 184) and ISO
- Data Vault 2.0 notation on the basis of Dan Linstedt's development
- Multi-Dimensional Modeling in Cube and Dimension Diagrams
- BPMN 2.0 process modeling
The standards are extended to include further Innovator-specific elements, including integration of various model approaches and support when working on complex projects.
