Using Numbering Formats
You can change number formats at a chapter level.
You can use Innovator to set the number format in the documentation at the chapter level. The following numbering formats are supported:
- Unnumbered
- Arabic starting with 1
- Roman large
- Roman small
- Uppercase
- Lowercase
- Arabic starting with 0
The super chapter's number format is the operative chapter. It is not possible for a chapter in the documentation to have subchapters which are numbered in different ways. A chapter's number format affects all its subchapters.
Only if the number format is set to Unnumbered does this property have precedence and the chapter and its subchapters are unnumbered.
If a chapter is unnumbered, its subchapters are also automatically unnumbered.
Restriction
The numbering is taken from the paragraph format used for documentation in MS Word format, i.e. you can only differentiate between numbered and unnumbered.
