How to Use This Help
Help Options
The most suitable means of accessing help depends on various factors: Whether an Internet connection is available, the available memory space, and your personal preferences for displaying the help.
- If you have a permanent Internet connection, you should consider using the online help. This version of the documentation is updated constantly so that you always have the latest state of information.
- If you do not have a permanent Internet connection and must depend on a local copy of the help, you can use the Innovator installation file to download and install the offline help separately. If necessary, you can download an up-to-date version of the offline help.
Navigating in the Help
The following support is available to help you use this Help:
- If you use the references in the help topics or jump to the topics from the search hits, the help topic is also highlighted in the table of contents and the respective help branch is expanded.
- If you call a help topic which is part of the table of contents, the help navigation in which the topic is located is shown above the topic (known as breadcrumbs).
Header
The MID logo is in the help's header on the left-hand side with a link to the help's start page; there is a field for search inquiries on the right.
The search returns hits for all help topics in the TOC, browse sequences and other documents, if applicable. You can find more information about the search below.

They also show the installation and migration manuals; you can also download these as PDFs from the Customer area.

Browse Sequences
The browse sequences contain certain topics. Browse sequences are there to show a topic independently from or instead of the table of contents.
The search also searches through topics which only appear in the browse sequences. You will be able to recognize a topic that does not appear in the table of contents as it will not be highlighted there at the same time.
Search
When carrying out a search in the Help, please note:
- The search only takes whole words into consideration and not placeholders.
- Search strings with five characters or more are also searched for as parts of words.
- Word groups and connections are indicated using quotation marks, e.g.: "more information", "user admin".
- Use the topic filter to restrict the search to certain topic areas. If you leave "Topic filter" in the selection field, the search is not restricted.
- Hits in a topic are highlighted in color. You can select
to remove the highlighting. - Use your browser's search function for words in the topic (normally [Ctrl]+[F]).
- Use the Back context menu command for returning to the hit list or rerun the search.
