Adding Smart Icons to Elements
You can use Edit Mode to immediately add smart icons to diagram elements to add additional status information to the graphic.
You can use Edit Mode to show additional status information as an icon in the graphic for elements when in edit mode in a diagram. To do this, select the appropriate command from the View>Smart Icons group.
Smart icons can be shown as part of the diagram in the documentation.
The following information can be selected:

Not AccessibleAn icon indicates:

That the user is not authorized to change this element in their current role (otherwise, no icon is displayed)

EditingAn icon indicates:

That the element can be edited by the current user or -
That the element is currently being exclusively edited by another user, which means that it cannot presently be edited by the current user even though they have the necessary authorization

SpecifiedA smart icon is not displayed for specification texts if only
empty specification texts or specification texts with configured facts text are defined.An icon indicates:

Individual specification texts, empty specification texts or specification texts with facts text are defined or -
Only individual specification texts are defined

File AttachmentsAn icon indicates:

That the element has a file attachment
-

AnnotationsAn icon indicates:
-
That the element has an annotation
-
-
PlaceholdersAn icon indicates:
-
That the element is a placeholder element, so it was created in place of a missing prerequisite for another imported element

Shortage of SpaceAn icon indicates:
-
The element cannot fully show its label or header as the node or header area are too small.
To show a container's header fully, select Optimize>Optimize Optimize Header Size.
To show the element's label fully, select Optimize>Optimize Size or drag the node to make it bigger.
You can find both commands in the Design ribbon in the Arrange and in the context menu.
